Flintridge Bookstore celebrates Independent Bookstore Day with poetry for all ages!
Schedule of events:
10:00 to 11:30 AM: Visit Cedar the reading therapy dog, and read him a poem from our children's selections
12:00 to 4:00 PM: RENT POET offers poetry-on-the-spot for your pet. Bring a photo (or not), and RENT POET Brian Sonia-Wallace will write a poem using his manual typewriter. Brian will also bring his own dog, a Shiba Inu, and his book, I Sold These Poems Now I Want Them Back. The session will end with a book signing
1:30 to 3:00 PM: 2nd grade students from Paradise Canyon Elementary School recite their original poetry and display their inspired Lego creations
3:00 to 5:00 PM: Poetry open mic for adults. Come early to sign up
