Arno Holz

Arno Holz, born on April 26, 1863, in Rastenburg, East Prussia (now Kętrzyn, Poland), was a German poet and playwright affiliated with the Naturalist movement. He is the author of many works, including the poem-cycle Phantasus, published in multiple editions between 1898 and Holz’s death in 1929, as well as posthumously. Between 1919 and 1929, he was nominated nine times for the Nobel Prize in Literature. He died on October 26, 1929.
