When twenty-three-year-old Marie Bullock founded this organization in 1936 she was compelled by her passionate belief that poets in the United States deserved to be celebrated and supported. To celebrate our eightieth anniversary this year, we are renewing our commitment to our founding mission and celebrating our work over the years. This spring, we introduced a new, modern look that unifies all of our programs. We've relaunched our website, restoring the classic American literary font Electra for web and making the full breadth of our content on tablets and phones available for the very first time. And we've just begun! Stay tuned for more new programs and events we'll launch this year!
