William Collins, born December 25, 1721, was an English poet. He is the author of Ode Occasion’d by the Death of Mr. Thomson (1749), Odes on Several Descriptive and Allegorical Subjects (1746), and Persian Eclogues (1742). He died in Sussex, England, on June 12, 1759.

By all their country's wishes blest!
