Jaqueline Jones LaMon

Jacqueline Jones LaMon received a BA from Mount Holyoke College, a JD from the UCLA School of Law, and an MFA from Indiana University–Bloomington. She is the author of the poetry collections Gravity, U.S.A (Quercus Review, 2013), winner of the Quercus Review Press Poetry Series Book Award, and Last Seen (University of Wisconsin Press, 2011), winner of the Felix Pollack Prize in Poetry. She is also the author of the novel In the Arms of One Who Loves Me (Ballantine Books, 2002). A finalist for the 2012 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literature in Poetry, LaMon has received fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center, the Kimbilio Center for African American Fiction, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, among others. She currently serves as the president of Cave Canem Foundation and teaches at Adelphi University. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
