SlamCharlotte is a nationally recognized poetry slam located in Charlotte, NC. Formerly Queen City Soul Slam, the slam started at the African-American Cultural Center in 2003. Through a desire for continued growth, the partnership between SlamCharlotte and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's Education Institute was formed. SlamCharlotte strives to promote poetic growth, performance enhancement, and increased camaraderie between poets and the community through a monthly slam competition.
