Yaxkin Melchy Ramos

Yaxkin Melchy Ramos was born in Mexico City in 1985. He is a Mexican and Peruvian-Quechua poet, translator, ecopoetics researcher, and bookmaker. 

Melchy Ramos is the author of The New World (Ghost City Press, 2023), a five-part “constellation-book,” translated by Ryan Greene, which was written intermittently between 2007 and 2017. 

Since 2017, Melchy Ramos has been translating contemporary Japanese poetry to Spanish and runs the artisanal press Cactus del viento, which focuses on ecological, spiritual, and transpacific poetics. He is currently a postdoctoral student at Tsukuba University in Japan, where he is researching ecopoetic currents between Japan and Latin America.
