Western Avenue

After the Ex
             the singing lights
Colonel Abrams burning
             pleas in our ears

I hear baby please
             take me right now
come over here
             hit it tonight

I want to linger
             there forever
wet O baby
             we settle in

until dawn fills
             our eyes with sighs
allow me these
             tattoos your funk

incense on my skin
             my haloing Afro
never let it go
             baby please we hold

each other close
             until these sweet nights
come no more
             until our silences

are one
             (baby please)
our losses drum
             until this poem
