In 1973 David R. Collins founded the Mississippi Valley Writers' Conference and continued as its chair until his death in 2001. In 2006 the Board of Directors of the Midwest Writing Center brought this three-day national writing conference back to the Quad-City area. The conference features five three-day workshops, author luncheons, literary agent workshops, and readings.
The David R. Collin Writers' Conference is scheduled to be held June 28-30, 2018.
