Joshua Beckman
Joshua Beckman was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and earned his BA from Hampshire College, where he studied poetry and the art of the book.
Beckman is the author of numerous books of poetry, including A Guide for Making Fragments from Diaries (Wave Books, 2026); Animal Days (Wave Books, 2021). He has also published books in translation, including Five Meters of Poems (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2010) by Carlos Oquendo de Amat, co-translated with Alejandro de Acosta, and Poker by Tomaž Šalamun (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2003) which was a finalist for the PEN Poetry in Translation Award. He also coedited Supplication: Selected Poems of John Wieners (Wave Books, 2015).
Beckman is an editor at Wave Books, a poetry press based in both Seattle and New York.
