Koi

by Jessy Mohns

Orangutan Orange and abyss black,
Around the koi flow, forward and back,
Circles they travel, and hurriedness they lack.

Harmoniously, together, they swim,
Closer yet farther as the light dims,
Gracefully they fall then rise to the brim.

Mother Moon ascends and the pond glows,
Trees stir and wind gently blows,
Yet the joi are un-phased and continue their flow.

People who witness, fall under their trance,
Escape from endless depth, there is no chance.
