The Fox

The trail illuminated the darkness
with the green lanterns hovering over it
Fireflies surrounded them
leaving whispers of their wings behind
I glanced over at the cunning fox
briskly running through the woods

And when the fox found its prey
frolicking through the emptiness of the night
a sinister look appeared on its face
And everything

became voiceless
The trail became a faint red
when the modest dusk came along
