From the Archive: Postcard to Betty Kray

by James Wright and Annie Wright

July 22, 1977

Dear Betty, Here's the one painting of Piero's that they have in Milan. Here in Arezzo, the whole back of a church is covered with his glorious "Search for the True Cross." Yesterday we especially missed you on one little journey up through the exquisite valley of Casentino. Last evening I ate a stuffed zucchini flower for dinner,

Love,
Jim & Annie*

*We discovered a tiny arcaded city with a castle yesterday. It has the magical name of Poppi! — sheer heaven. XXOO, Annie
