League of Utah Writers The League of Utah Writers is a non-profit organization for writers of all genres. Members meet in local chapters around the state to write, read, and discuss their work. The organization also hosts an annual workshop each spring.
Redrock Writers Guild
A non-profit organization based in Southern Utah, the Redrock Writers Guild promotes poetry through a reading series, an annual writing seminar, and the Chaparral Poetry Contest.
Salt Lake City Arts Council Supports poetry by giving grants and co-sponsoring a reading series.
Utah Arts Council Utah Arts Council has outreach services (including financial assistance) to schools, local arts councils and organizations, community centers, performing groups and individual artists.
Utah State Poetry Society
Dedicated to the creation and appreciation of poetry, the Utah State Poetry Society encourages members in each step of the writing process. Members are encouraged to read and listen to the great poetry of our time and our heritage.

University of Utah Candidates for the M.F.A. must spend at least three semesters in residence and must complete all work for the degree within five consecutive calendar years. Graduate students comprise the editorial staff of Quarterly West and work on Western Humanities Review. The University also co-sponsors Guest Writers, a free reading series. |

Great Salt Lake Book Festival The Utah Humanities Council's Great Salt Lake Book Festival is a free, three-day event bringing together authors of every genre to speak to the public about their work. Children's events include a poetry slam for teens.
Guest Writers Reading Series Readings are free and open to the public and followed by a reception for the writers. Sponsored by Salt Lake City Arts Council and the University of Utah.
Western Legends Round Up The celebration offers a roster of cowboy poets, musicians and storytellers to share their talents and interpretations of the "Old West."
