Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel

Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel, born December 22, 1918, in Stroud, Oklahoma, is the author of over forty chapbooks, including A Homemade Dress (Stone Woman Press, 1979), This is Leonard’s Alley (Stone Woman Press, 1979), and The Fish Hook: Okie and Valley Prose and Poems (Seven Buffaloes Press, 1978). Dubbed “the Okie poet” and the “Dust Bowl poet,” McDaniel was known for writing about her Dust Bowl experiences. She died on April 13, 2007, in California.
