Viscount Strangford

Percy Clinton Sydney Smythe Strangford, born in 1780, was an Irish translator, nobleman, and diplomat. A British ambassador, at different points in his career, to Portugal, Sweden, the Ottoman Empire, and Russia, he was the translator and editor of Poems, from the Portuguese of Luis De Cameons (James Carpenter and Son, 1803). Strangford died in 1855.
