Leonard Chalmers-Hunt

Leonard Chalmers-Hunt was an English lawyer, reverend, and translator who was barrister-at-law at the The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in London. His translations include The “Khamriyyah” (Wine Song) of Umar Ibn al-Fārid and Other Arabic Poems (Simpkin, Marshall, Hamilton, Kent and Co., 1923), The Odes of Horace (Simpkin, Marshall, Hamilton, 1925), and Pervigilium Veneris (The Eve of St. Venus) and Other Latin Poems (Heath Cranton, 1930). In 1933, he cofounded The Horatian Society.
