al-Khansāʾ

Tumāḍir bint ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith ibn al-Sharīd al-Sulamīyah, known better as al-Khansāʾ, was likely born circa 575 in Arabia. A renowned writer of elegies, she is remembered as one of the most influential Arabic poets of the pre-Islamic era. She died sometime after the year 630.
