The Atrocious Poets, a poetry collective based in Woodstock, Illinois, is observing National Poetry Month with One City, One Poet. This year's celebration aims to bring the life and legacy of "the people's poet" Carl Sandburg to the streets of Woodstock.

Recently concluded events include a Spanish-language discussion of Sandburg's poems, a screening of the documentary The Day Carl Sandburg Died, and more. Not to be missed on April 28, 2018, are an afternoon Land Conservancy guided walk and an evening open mic at the Old Court House Arts Center.
