Today we feature two National Poetry Month celebrations in Vermont: PoemCity and PoemTown. PoemCity brings a wide array of programs to Montpelier, Vermont, including workshops; readings by poets from around the state; musical, art, and theatrical poetry presentations; and open mics. During April, work by contemporary Vermont poets will be on display in downtown Montpelier.
Throughout April, PoemTown will feature poetry displayed in business windows and poems with painted covers on display in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. PoemTown will also feature lunchtime poetry readings on Wednesdays in April at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, three poetry slams throughout the month, and a reception for PoemTown poets at the Catamount Arts Gallery.
