Every year, from September 15 to October 15, we join in a national celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage as part of National Hispanic Heritage Month. We take this time to recognize and honor the contributions of Americans whose ancestry has its roots in Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.

Join in this celebration with our selection of poems, essays, books, and multimedia features by and about Hispanic writers who have made—and continue to make—great contributions to the landscape of American poetry, including inaugural poet and Education Ambassador Richard Blanco and Academy Chancellor Juan Felipe Herrera, the first Latino poet laureate of the United States.
