Grace Cavalieri

Poet Laureate of Maryland, 2018–

Grace Cavalieri received a BS in education from The College of New Jersey and an MA in creative writing from Goddard University. She is the author of more than forty books of poetry and plays, including What The Psychic Said (Goss Publications, 2020) and Other Voices, Other Lives (Alan Squire Publishing, 2017).

Cavalieri holds the Associated Writing Program’s (AWP) George Garrett Award, as well the Bordighera Poetry Prize and the Paterson Poetry Award, among numerous other prizes.

Cavalieri founded and produced The Poet and the Poem for public radio, now hosted by the Library of Congress. In 2019, she was named an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow. Cavalieri currently serves as the tenth poet laureate of Maryland.
