Established in 1934, the League of Minnesota Poets is committed to a spread and education of poetry throughout their state. They hold an annual poetry contest, as well as spring and autumn member meetings hosted by one of the five local chapters by rotation in their respective areas. Members may enter state and national poetry contests at greatly reduced rates. The League publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Lomplighter, and an annual journal of its members, The Moccasin.
