The Friends of the College of Staten Island Literary Brunch featuring and celebrating, Tyehimba Jess, Professor of English and 2017 Pulitzer Prize winner in Poetry for Olio, published by Wave books. The Pulitzer organization calls it a “distinctive work that melds performance art with the deeper art of poetry to explore collective memory and challenge contemporary notions of race and identity.”
10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.: $125 Prebrunch meet-and-greet with Pulitzer Prize-winner Tyehimba Jess. Includes autographed book, photo with the author, brunch, and program.
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: $75 Brunch and program.
12:30p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: $15 General Public admission/program only.
Students are free with a valid ID, but they must RSVP in advance. Limited availability. Proceeds to benefit scholarships.
