Susanna Nied

Susanna Nied is a writer and translator best know for her translations of Danish poet and novelist Inger Christensen. These translations include The Condition of Secrecy: Selected Essays (forthcoming, 2018), Light, Grass, and Letter in April (2011), it (2006), Butterfly Valley: A Requiem (2004), and alphabet (2001), all published by New Directions. In 2007,  Nied received the Harold Morton Landon Translation Award, and in 2005 and 2012, she was named a finalist for the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation.
