Alix Anne Shaw

Alix Anne Shaw received an MFA in poetry from George Mason University and an MFA in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.

She is the author of three poetry collections: Rough Ground (Etruscan Press, 2018), Dido in Winter (Persea Books, 2014), and Undertow (Persea Books, 2007), winner of the Lexi Rudnitsky Poetry Prize.

Of her work, Kazim Ali writes, “Anne Shaw is very badly behaved. Her poems will send you running for cover, blushing the whole way. She writes as if there is no decorum to language at all; her poems will leave you feeling worried and wild, lucidly drunk, gussied up and patted down.”

Shaw lives in Chicago and Milwaukee.
