Red Hen Press’s 21st Benefit Champagne Luncheon

PASADENA, CA – Red Hen Press will celebrate its 21st annual benefit at the Westin Hotel in Pasadena on November 8th with an annual champagne luncheon. The afternoon festivities will highlight Red Hen’s vibrant tradition in the literary community with performances from local school children, a silent auction, and readings by acclaimed authors Brian Turner, Amy Bloom, and Major Jackson.

Yusef Komunyakaa

There are few American poets as distinguished as Yusef Komunyakaa.  He is not only the winner of a Pulitzer prize for poetry, but also the recipient of the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award, and a member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers.  His plays, performance art, and libretti have been performed internationally and include Wakonda’s Dream, Saturnalia, Testimony, and Gilgamesh. He teaches at New York University.
