Dear Ms. Ostriker,
Hello my name is Thierry, I'm 12 years old. I go to school in Boston. I really enjoyed your poem. I liked your use of imagery and sensory details. My favorite stanza is the 1st one because you describe the race between the kids very well. I admired how you say "black and white boys wrestling and joking, teammates, wet plums and peaches touching each other..." because it inspired me to feel that there will eventually be peace on earth, and between people. One question that is in my mind is, is this poem based on a true story? Are you still friends with the other kid? Let me know.
