Join us at the 2018 Brooklyn Book Festival on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Brooklyn Borough Hall and vicinity, for readings by Academy Chancellor Terrance Hayes and American Poets Prize winners Raquel Salas Rivera, Patricia Smith, and Jenny Xie.

SCHEDULE:
 
Brooklyn Historical Auditorium, 128 Pierrepont St, 12 p.m.
Eve L. Ewing, Terrance Hayes, Lynn Melnick, and Raquel Salas Rivera read their own poems and discuss how literature and activism intersect. Moderated by Camille Rankine, The New School, Creative Writing Program.
 
Center Stage (Columbus Park), 4 p.m.
Grady Chambers, Patricia Smith, and Jenny Xie will read from their recently published volumes of poetry. Moderated by Ricardo Maldonado, Unterberg Poetry Center, Managing Director.
 
St. Francis College Founder’s Hall, 180 Remsen St, 5 p.m.
Fatimah Asghar, Mahogany L. Browne, Chen Chen, and Aimee Nezhukumatathil share work that meditates on ideas of joy, gratitude and magic. Moderated by Nikay Paredes, Academy of American Poets, Programs Coordinator.
