300 teenage poets, from 50 schools across Southern California will compete in GET LIT’s annual Classic Slam—the nation’s largest teen poetry festival and the only one to combine classic and original spoken-word poetry as competitive categories. Teenagers compete to take home cash prizes and scholarships. Top performers earn invitations to audition for the award-winning poetry troupe, the GET LIT Players, who have performed for the United Nations and the White House.
