The Academy of American Poets invites you to join us in New York City for a series of events exploring the ever-changing landscape of contemporary poetry in America. The Forum will feature in-depth discussions with an array of distinguished poets; readings; publication parties; and a new selection of literary walking tours, led by poets, throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.
"The Poets Forum is a true assembly of minds, a marketplace of ideas. You'll find no posturing or pronouncements, no peacocks or princesses—just poetry poetry poetry. Autumn is in the air; let's go to the fair!" —Rita Dove
"Poetry is an ancient art that is ever new, which is proved each fall by the Poets Forum—a splendid gathering, a rambunctious and diverse chorus, a forum of spirited solitaries. As John Berryman put it, 'We are on each other's hands / who care.'"
—Edward Hirsch
"All year I look forward to our Harvest gathering, to the ongoing conversation between all the readers and writers who join forces to fill our communal spaces with the laughter and grief and anger and joy of poems."
—Sharon Olds
"The Poets Forum brings together writers and readers of poetry to foster the ongoing conversation that makes American literary culture so diverse, vibrant and compelling. It gives this most intimate of art forms a public context in which it can shine."
—Mark Wunderlich
