1992/1988. Introduced by Bill Wadsworth and Charles Molesworth.

During his tenure as Poet Laureate, Pinsky emphasized the vocal experience of the art of poetry. Now listeners to this recording can hear Pinsky read his own poems, which are written in, as Molesworth notes in his introduction, "a language that catches and heightens the music of plain words.... [He] uses this music to argue discursively or complain knowingly or celebrate fully."

Pinsky reads from History of My Heart and The Figured Wheel, which received the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize.

Length: 79 min. (2 discs)
