1974. Introduced by Michael Benedikt. Listeners to this recording will discover a rich and broad selection from 30 years of the poet's work. This reading took place six years before the poet was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature and some fourteen years before the appearance of his widely celebrated Collected Poems (Ecco), but a number of the best poems from that book can be found here, including "Song on the End of the World," "Outskirts," "Bobo's Metamorphosis," and "Ars Poetica?" Some poems are also read in the original Polish. Length: 71 min. |
