1970. Introduced by Frederick Morgan. In his introduction Frederick Morgan says of Stafford's work that "each poem is the expression of a strong and alert sensibility, confronting life and the world from its own authentic vantage." Stafford here proves to be, in the words of Marvin Bell, "in person, as in his writing,... fiercely attentive and gently responsive." Poems on the recording come from a number of Stafford's collections, among them Traveling Through the Dark, which received the National Book Award. Length: 56 min. |
