Mount Mary College will present author Samuel Hazo on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in Helfaer Hall. Limited copies of The Song of the Horse, A Selection of Poems 1958-2008 by Hazo, will be available for purchase and signing. Helfaer Hall is located in the first floor of Caroline Hall at 2900 N. Menomonee River Parkway, Milwaukee. Ample, free parking is available.
Samuel Hazo is the author of poetry, fiction, essays, various works of translation and four plays.
He is the founder and director of the International Poetry Forum in Pittsburgh, PA. Hazo has received numerous awards during his writing career including the Maurice English Poetry Award and the Griffin Award for Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame, his alma mater. He was also the first State Poet of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
