The Poet’s Voice, which is celebrating its 33rd season, is proud to present the National Children’s Poet Laureate, Mary Ann Hoberman. Mary Ann Hoberman is a critically acclaimed poet who has published 45 books, all but two are in verse. This program will appeal to adults as well as children, 5 years and above. Mary Ann has a great deal to impart to parents about poetry and instilling a joy of reading in children. She will show adults what it is she does with children and how she engages them in language and poetry. She will talk about her desire to instill a love of poetry among youngsters. The importance and value of memorizing poetry will be explored. And she will reveal to us her trade secret….an almost total recall of her childhood. Come spend a magical afternoon with Mary Ann Hoberman who will share with us her delightful, engaging poems and the joys of reading. |
