The University of Arizona Poetry Center will host this three-day symposium to explore and discuss the cutting-edge in contemporary avant-garde poetry. In addition to a keynote address with renowned poetry critic Marjorie Perloff, there will be lectures, classes, panel and roundtable discussions, and literary presentations. These events are designed to explore new directions in innovative writing and to equip readers, writers, and scholars with tools to more fully understand and appreciate new forms within contemporary literature. Featured artists will include Caroline Bergvall, Charles Bernstein, Christian Bök, Craig Dworkin, Peter Gizzi, Kenneth Goldsmith, Susan Howe, Tracie Morris and Cole Swensen.
