Duncan and Jess: Between Fields with Michael Davidson, Lisa Jarnot, Daniel C. Remein & Lytle Shaw
March 6, 2014, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Fales Library at NYU Bobst Library , 70 Washington Square South, Third Floor, New York, NY

Visual artist Jess (1923–2004) and poet Robert Duncan (1919–1988) were one of the most fascinating artistic couples of the 20th century. From their 1950 meeting in San Francisco, their partnership extended to their intertwined, allusive work, inspiring discussions of the fertile interplay between poetry and art to this day. Co-organized with NYU’s Department of English, Fales Library, and Grey Art Gallery.

“An Opening of the Field: Jess, Robert Duncan, and Their Circle” will be on view at the Grey Art Gallery at New York University (100 Washington Square East) on view through March 29, 2014.

Admission: FREE

Sponsored by Poets House, NYU Department of English, Fales Library and Grey Art Gallery.
