Swiss sound poets Jacques Demierre and Vincent Barras will perform at Georgetown University in ICC 107 on Oct. 3 @ 8pm.
The event is free and open to the public.
Sound poets Jacques Demierre’s and Vincent Barras’ musical sound works explore the bodily dimensions of improvised music, sound poetry, sound installation—and most dramatically—language flow—the flow of vowels and consonants linked to bodily gesture. They speculate, in an embodied and ontogenic way, on the ever-primitive language that flows from the open mouth, what occurs every time we articulate sounds and let them run out like the flow of some childish, primitive or idiotic language.
