Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its Open Reading series every second Saturday of the month.  Readings now held at two venues:  Cornelia Street Café on odd months (Sept, Nov) and Sidewalk Café on even months (Oct, Dec.)  Event kicks off with Open Mic readings of five minutes. Award-winning author Daniela Gioseffi has written 16 books of poetry and prose.  Her most recent publication is Pioneering Italian American Culture-Essays, Interviews and Reviews. Josephine Gattuso Hendin is a novelist and critic who won the American Book Award in fiction for novel The Right Thing to Do (1989.)
