Red Hen Press Poetry Prom
Featured Poets:Eric Morago, Laurel Ann Bogen, Doug Kearney
August 3, 2013, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
La Pintoresca Branch of the Pasadena Public Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave., Pasadena, CA

Red Hen Press will commemorate its Twentieth Anniversary in 2014. In honor of that milestone, the Press intends to publish an Anniversary Anthology showcasing the depth and diversity of the Red Hen catalog, to produce a free, public festival celebrating literature and the arts, and to conduct a book drive supporting community literacy projects throughout Southern California. To fund this Anthology and the associated programming, the Press is launching its first ever Kickstarter campaign. It kicks off at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 3rd, with Poetry Prom, a free event at the La Pintoresca Branch of the Pasadena Public Library. Please see redhen.org/kickstarter for more information about the campaign; the web address of Red Hen’s official Kickstarter page will not be available until launch.

Slated for Saturday, August 3rd at 4pm, Poetry Prom will be an afternoon of forgotten fashions, fits of laughter, and fanciful memories. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in prom or mock-prom attire; book corsages and boutineers will be provided. Poets Douglas Kearney and Laurel Ann Bogen will serve as Prom King and Queen, regaling admirers with their noble, boogying verse. Poetry Prom will also feature:

- Finger Food and “Punch”
- Photo Booth
- Spotlight Dances
- Raffle Drawing for Prizes

Prom is free and open to the public; Red Hen staffers will be on hand to take Kickstarter donations and answer questions about the project. Festivities will commence shortly after 4 p.m. at the La Pintoresca Branch of the Pasadena Public Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave., Pasadena.

For more information about attending Poetry Prom, or to RSVP, please call the Press at 626-356-4760 or write to Gabriela@redhen.org.
