Mervyn Taylor & Susana Case will read in the Lunar Walk Poetry Series at the Two Moon Art House & Cafe, on Sunday May 12, at 4 p.m. Admission is $10, which gets you a free drink, and there is a sign-up for Open Mic.
Susana Case is the author of Elvis Presley's Hips & Mick Jagger's Lips (Anaphora Literary Press, 2013) and Salem in Séance (WordTech Editions, 2013). Her chapbooks include Manual of Practical Sexual Advice (Kattywompus Press, 2012), The Cost of Heat (Pecan Grove Press, 2010), Anthropologist in Ohio (Main Street Rag Press, 2005) and The Scottish Cafe (Slapering Hol Press, 2002).
Mervyn Taylor is a Trinidad-born poet who divides his time between Brooklyn, New York and his island home. He is the author of No Back Door (Shearsman Books, 2010), Gone Away (Junction Press, 2006), The Goat (Junction Press, 1999) and An Island of His Own (Junction Press, 1992). Mervyn Taylor is also a long-time Carnival participant and costume designer, recently appearing in Dalton Narine's award-winning documentary Mas Man, and he can be heard reading his poetry on the CD Road Clear, accompanied by renowned bassist David Williams.
