Jericho Brown is a recent recipient of the Whiting Writers Award and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard University. He is now an Assistant Professor at
Emory University. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in journals and anthologies including The American Poetry Review, Boston Review, The New Yorker, Oxford American, The New Republic, and The Best American Poetry. His first book, Please (New Issues, 2008), won the American Book Award.
Maurya Simon is the author of nine volumes of poetry, including Speaking in Tongues, which was nominated for the 1990 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, and her recent novel-in-verse, The Raindrop's Gospel: The Trials of St. Jerome & St. Paula. Simon is a Professor of the Graduate Division and Professor Emerita at the University of California, Riverside, where she taught for twenty-six years. She has been the recipient of an NEA Fellowship in poetry, an Indo-American Fellowship, a Fulbright Fellowship, two residencies at the American Academy in Rome, and residencies at the MacDowell Colony and the Djerassi Center for the Arts. Maurya Simon lives in the Angeles National Forest on Mt. Baldy. |
