Poet and baroque oboist Jane McKinley reads from her award-winning poetry collection Vanitas as well as new work. Vanitas was the winner of the Walt McDonald First Book Prize and was published by Texas Tech University Press in 2011. Her sonnet “Mud Season” received Carlow University's Patricia Dobler Award in 2008. Jane's work was featured in the Fall 2010 issue of The Georgia Review, and has also appeared in Southern Poetry Review, 2River View, U. S. 1 Worksheets, The Raintree Review, the Irish journal Southword, and on Poetry Daily. She also performs professionally on historical oboes and serves as artistic director of the Dryden Ensemble, a Baroque chamber music group based in Princeton. |
