Of John Godfrey’s nine collections, four are published in this century: Push the Mule (Figures 2001), Private Lemonade (Adventures in Poetry 2003), City of Corners (Wave 2008), and Tiny Gold Dress (Lunar Chandelier 2012). He recently retired and now speculates fulltime. As college classmates and poetry Mutt and Jeff, Koethe had the binocs and navigated, Godfrey rowed.

John Koethe’s new book, ROTC Kills, was published by HarperCollins in September. His previous book, Ninety-Fifth Street, received the Lenore Marshall Prize from the Academy of American Poets. He has also received the Frank O’Hara and Kingsley Tufts awards and is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
