In the year 2000, the Academy of American Poets launched the production of its Video Collection, which has become one of the most insightful approaches to producing poetry documentaries available.

The Poet's View series, directed by public television favorite Mel Stuart, is the first line of videos in our collection. The Poet's View currently contains in-depth conversations with John Ashbery, Anthony Hecht, Louise Glück, and W. S. Merwin in their homes and environments.
