Tomás Q. Morín

Tomás Q. Morín received a BA in Spanish from Texas State University, an MA in Hispanic and Italian Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and an MFA in creative writing from Texas State. He is the author of the poetry collections Machete (Knopf, 2021) and A Larger Country (Copper Canyon Press, 2012), winner of the APR/Honickman Prize and runner-up for the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award. He also published the memoir Let Me Count the Ways (University of Nebraska Press, 2022) and translated Pablo Neruda’s The Heights of Macchu Picchu (Copper Canyon Press, 2015). 

In 2022, Morín received a Guggenheim Fellowship. He lives in Austin, Texas and is an assistant professor of creative writing at Rice University. He also teaches in the low-residency MFA writing program at Vermont College of Fine Arts.
