The Gwendolyn Brooks Center for Black Literature and Creative Writing, founded in 1990 at Chicago State University (CSU), presents the annual Gwendolyn Brooks Black Writers' Conference, Black History Month Video & Film Festival, Women's History Month Lecture & Workshop Series, and National Poetry Festival. The Center publishes an annual literary journal, Warpland: A Journal of Black Literature and Ideas, and houses the International Literary Hall of Fame for Writers' of African Descent.
