Each fall the Academy of American Poets presents a series of events in New York City exploring the ever-changing landscape of contemporary poetry in America. The Forum features in-depth discussions with an array of distinguished poets, readings, lectures, receptions, and a selection of poet-led literary walking tours.

Join us for an unforgettable evening as some of the most acclaimed poets of our day come together on one stage to read from their latest work.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25

Poetry Walking Tours, 10:30 a.m.
Follow in the footsteps of Walt Whitman, Herman Melville, W.H. Auden, and Marianne Moore on poet-led literary walking tours throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Publishing 101 for Poets, 10:00 a.m.
Kevin Larimer, editor in chief of Poets & Writers Magazine, provides best practices for submitting poems to literary magazines and presses, and answers questions about how to navigate the publishing process.

Panel Discussions on Contemporary Poetry, 12:30 & 2:00 p.m.
