What is My Notebook? The Notebook feature is a private place to store items on Poets.org that you want to keep track of, such as poems, biographies, upcoming events, and audio clips. You can create several Notebooks with different names and attach a description to each. It's better than bookmarking pages in your browser because you can log in from any computer to access your saved links.
How are items added to a Notebook? Think of the Notebook as a scrapbook. As you browse through the site, you will see "Add to Notebook" links on poet biographies, poems, prose, audio clips, and events. If you click the "add" link, the item will be added to your Notebook.
Why didn't the items get saved? There are two steps involved in saving an item. After choosing the "Add to Notebook" link, you will be given a list of available notebooks to place the item in. You must select a notebook, even if you have only one, for the item to be saved.
Can I store my own poems in a Notebook? Sorry, but no. The Notebooks are not intended to store text, except for short descriptions of the contents of each Notebook. You may post your own writing and share it with others in the Poets.org Message Boards. |
